Caring for others is at the heart of Heidi’s work — both in her integrative cancer practice and in her lifelong commitment to Australian wildlife rescue. This page shares the story behind her connection to Wildcare Australia and how her work helps support the animals who need it most.

Supporting Wildlife Through Wildcare Australia

From the time I could stand on two feet, I was rescuing animals. My mum often got exasperated at the number of birds, lizards, frogs, and other creatures I would bring home, and honestly, nothing has changed. My love for animals has remained a guiding part of my life, and caring for them is as instinctive as caring for people.

One of the most unforgettable rescues I’ve been involved in was this little joey (pictured). I found him in a deceased possum’s pouch while checking my bush suburb, a stark reminder of how fragile and vulnerable these creatures are. Experiences like this have inspired my long-term commitment to wildlife care and Wildcare Australia.

Because of this, 5% of every consultation fee is donated to Wildcare Australia, a volunteer-run organisation that rescues, rehabilitates, and releases injured and orphaned native wildlife. I have trained as a wildlife carer myself, and I know firsthand how under-resourced this work can be, and how much these animals rely on volunteers to survive.

Supporting Wildcare is my way of bringing my values into my practice. By choosing to work with me, you are also contributing to:

  • Emergency wildlife rescue and rehabilitation
  • Medical care, food, and shelter for injured native animals
  • Support for wildlife carers who dedicate their homes, time, love, and resources
  • The protection of local ecosystems and biodiversity

For me, this is a part of who I am and what my business stands for. Every consultation you have here becomes part of a ripple effect of care, extending beyond human patients to the wildlife that share our world.
